• Who is 2daPoint Massive Movement?
To get to the point, this dance company which is now referred to as a “Massive Movement” was founded by Andy Ninvalle and Janine Schott and was a spontaneous investigation of the different dance styles they mastered. Classical Ballet and Hip Hop. In the year 2000 it used to be represented only by these two individuals. This is no longer the case. 2daPoint has evolved into a Massive Movement of dancers from totally different economic, cultural, ethnic and artistic backgrounds, with the same passion to exit the comfort zones of the Massive Movement definitions they respectively govern. How different are the dancers? How similar?
Let’s examine the basis of 2daPoint which lies in the ideology of the Artistic Director Andy Ninvalle. Andy sees life as a Massive Movement of spontaneous choreography in which everyone is using their best moves. He seeks out dancers who are dedicated to researching, experimenting with and integrating different forms of dancing. Dancers who see their differences as a stimulant to investigate and develop as artists. This basis ideology has assisted the company in extending their creative borders and incorporating other genres like miming and acting in their choreographies. The success of their performances is a direct consequence of this unique artistic signature.
• What is 2daPoint Massive Movement?
This can be best described as the conceptual pseudonym of the founders/artistic directors. 2daPoint is the way Andy Ninvalle thinks, feels and envisions the arts. It represents his signature generic manner of integrating dance forms and artistic genres. 2daPoint is like the name suggests, down to Earth and simple, not embracing pretentiousness and extravagance of the abstract. Andy Ninvalle believes that anyone witnessing one of their performances should be able to appreciate, relate and especially enjoy it, simply because they recognize something about themselves, something human, something uncomplicated, something natural.
As a result their performances are booked by a wide cross-section of dance enthusiasts including professional theatres, local and international artistic institutions, primary and secondary schools, art education organizations, government institutions, the Police Corps and even the European Union top officials and Ministers.
