Lana Joy Paniflow - NL (english)
Nadat ik helemaal uit mijn dak ging met de 'Grease' soundtrack op de kleuterschool, begon ik te dansen op 5- jarige leeftijd in Christchurch, Nieuw-Zeeland. Hoewel klassiek ballet mijn passie is, ben ik volledig opgeleid in alle aspecten van dans. Ik ben mijn opleiding bij het Canterbury Ballet begonnen en in 2003 reisde ik naar Kurashiki, Japan. Daar voerde ik "La Bayadère" uit in de Zuster City Festival of the Arts. Ik danste de rol van Nikya. Ik was ook lid van PAIS Company, waarmee we tijdens tournees door de lagere scholen in heel NZ dansworkshops gaven.

Gedurende twee jaar heb ik een opleiding gevolgd aan de International Ballet Academy in NZ, daarna voltooide ik het derde jaar aan het Australisch Conservatorium van Ballet in Melbourne. Na het afstuderen kreeg ik een contract bij de Royal New Zealand Ballet Company en danste ik in hun seizoen van 2006 "Giselle". In 2007 trok ik opnieuw naar Australië en werkte er als freelancer met PROJECTion Dance Company, Ballet Theatre Victoria. Ik ben ook gastartiest geweest bij RAPA en Dance Nelson; ik danste als solist de hoofdrollen van De Notenkraker, Don Quichot, Piquita en het Zwanenmeer.

Het is altijd al een droom van mij geweest om in Europa te dansen. In januari 2008 kwam ik naar Nederland. Ik ben momenteel ook freelancer bij Harlekijn Dans Theater geregisseerd door Herman van Veen, bij De Dutch Don't Dance Devision en de KISS Moves.

After dancing my socks off to the ‘Grease’ soundtrack at kindergarten, I began dancing at age 5 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Although classical ballet is my passion, I am fully trained in all aspects of dance. I began training with Canterbury Ballet, and in 2003 I travelled to Kurashiki, Japan to perform in the Sister City Festival of the Arts – dancing the principal role of Nikya in “La Bayadere, Kingdom of the Shades’’. I was also a member of PAIS Company, which we toured through primary schools throughout NZ, giving workshops in dance.

I trained for 2 years fulltime at the International Ballet Academy in NZ, then completed my 3rd year at the Australian Conservatiore of Ballet in Melbourne. Upon graduation I gained a contract with the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company and performed in their season of “Giselle” in 2006. In 2007 I returned to Australia and freelanced with – PROJECTions Dance Company, Ballet Theatre Victoria and was a guest artist with RAPA and Dance Nelson, performing soloist and principal roles in The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Piquita and Swan Lake.

It has always been a dream of mine to perform in Europe. In Janurary 2008 I took the plunge and travelled to the Netherlands. I am also currently freelancing with Harlekijn Dans Theater directed by Herman Van Veen, De Dutch Don’t Dance Devision – Notenkraker, and de KISS Moves – Strauss is Cool, Vavaldi Rocks and We Move.
